Dine — Saint Peter Paddington
Joshua Niland’s Australian fish eatery is one to experience.
The long and narrow space is well thought out, with the chefs and diners only separated by a beautiful marble bar top allowing for an interactive and intimate dining experience. I personally love watching chefs at work so this was really special.
Saint Peter is renowned for their exceptional quality, sustainably sourced fish and seafood.
You can see this in their unique menu, beautifully presented dishes and the knowledge each staff and chef share with you during the courses. We went for lunch but I have read that their dinner menu states not only the region their fish came from and the name of the person who reeled it in. Pretty cool.
My partner and I are big fans of oysters, so naturally, we started with a glass of champagne paired with a selection of oysters. A mix of sweet, salty and smooth as suggested by the waitress and all were absolutely delicious.
We then went on to have the Mooloolaba Yellowfin Tuna Tartare which seriously knocked my socks off. These little bites are mouth-watering, fresh, creamy and bursting with flavour. I highly, highly recommend.
What I really enjoyed was how creative each dish was. From style to presentation, the mix of ingredients and robust flavours. Also how beautiful are these hand-painted fish scale plates? Just incredible.
What else we ordered —
Salt & Vinegar King George Whiting w/ a side of bread. This was exceptional.
Selection of Raw Fish & Queen Scallops. Also exceptional.
Corner Inlet Rock Flathead Mortadella Langos. So interesting and so delicious. A bit heavy for my sensitive stomach but worth it.
St. Helens Blue Eye Trevalla Cutlets. Wow.
Alfonsino Eye Ice Cream Macaron. Just perfect.
It was a great day and a wonderful way to spend our 10th anniversary. If you love seafood and fancy an intimate dining experience I’d give it a try.
